And it’s not just the big players – 79% of North American legal professionals are now incorporating AI into their daily grind, up from a mere 19% the year before. One AI tool caught my eye lately – David AI by 2nd Chair. What’s interesting about David AI is how it’s tailored for individual lawyers and small firms like us. It’s not trying to be a one-size-fits-all solution, which is refreshing in the AI space. Instead, it focuses on what we actually need – a tool that can handle our own client files, notes, and emails securely.

The process was different from the other AI music generators, and I couldn’t believe that I produced such a fitting, high-quality result entirely automatically from a text prompt.

Though the UI itself did not seem to provide a way to share my AI-created track with a link, I was able to download immediately my AI-generated song in MP3 audio file.

The detailed editing capabilities reminded me of advanced music production software like FL Studio, used by professional sound engineers and music producers. With AIVA, even musical novices like myself can tweak an AI-generated track to get it just right, as if I had access to a professional music workstation.

Training AI model on the existing song

One of AIVA’s most impressive capabilities is its ability to study and recreate the style of any existing songs you provide. By uploading a song, you can train AIVA’s model on unique musical qualities. AIVA will then generate new compositions that closely match the original sample track in terms of style and orchestration.

The key to this mimicking ability is how AIVA analyzes uploaded MIDI files. It detects which instruments are being played using MIDI program change events. When I first signed up, I started by selecting the instrumental style and subgenre. Style selection includes Rap Beats, Lo-Fi, Electronic Dance, Hip Hop, or even Relaxing Meditation.

After selecting the foundation, Boomy’s AI music generator composed the first draft which I could easily modify by changing instruments, sound effects, tempo, and density. I could also adjust the mix levels, rearrange song sections, and record or upload my own vocals. The vocals must be my original recordings to comply with Boomy’s rules. According to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Bard seeks to combine the breadth of world knowledge with the power, intelligence, and creativity of Google’s AI. Essentially it aims to draw on information from the web to provide helpful, high-quality responses to user queries.

My personal view is that it represents an evolution from Google’s traditional search to more dynamic, personalized, and context-aware responses. However, the technology is still in its very early stages.

How Bard works and its advantages

Functionally, Bard works as an AI chatbot that users can have text-based conversations with. You can ask Bard open-ended questions and it will provide tailored responses based on its training and the most relevant information available in Google search results.

Furthermore, Bard will include footnotes that contain links to its sources. I was pleased to notice that Bard has cited the BYVI publication as one of the sources.

A standout capability of Google Bard AI is its tight integration with other Google services. Rather than only interacting within the chat interface, users can conveniently export the chatbot’s generated content straight into Google Docs or even into Gmail. This seamless connectivity with popular Google tools boosts the chatbot’s utility and enhances users’ productivity.

Key Challenges and Limitations

As an early prototype, Bard has several key limitations to overcome before it can be widely relied on. Since Bard is powered by one of the largest natural language processing models, it runs the risk of hallucinating content, providing inaccurate information, or misunderstanding context. Google acknowledged this challenge and has integrated search results to allow users to fact-check Bard’s responses. More training and validation will be required to improve reliability.

There are also concerns about how Bard handles sensitive topics around ethics, biases, and misinformation. Google will need safeguards to ensure Bard meets its principles of being helpful, harmless, and honest.

Additionally, the market for conversational AI is very competitive, with other tech giants also launching AI chatbots. While Bard shows promise, it remains to be seen if it can differentiate itself enough to gain traction.

Both AI chatbots aim to have natural conversations but take different approaches based on their training. Bard has an edge by leveraging both conversational AI and Google’s vast search data. This provides Bard with more up-to-date, factual information versus ChatGPT’s more conversational training.

In terms of capabilities, ChatGPT appears stronger for narrative creative writing like stories and poems. However, Bard aims to excel at search-related abilities and helpful, human-like conversations informed by facts.

While ChatGPT has been widely accessible, Bard is not available in all countries yet, and Google plans a slow rollout to refine Bard before making it publicly accessible to everyone.

Bard is still in early limited testing so its full capabilities remain uncertain. ChatGPT has been publicly available for longer. Both have merits but are optimized differently – Bard for search, and ChatGPT for human-like dialog.

Microsoft Bing Chat as a ChatGPT Alternative

At first, I was skeptical about Bing Chat being yet another AI chatbot. However, my interest was piqued when I found out that it is powered by GPT-4, the language model used in the paid ChatGPT Plus plan. Upon further investigation, everything fell into place as I discovered that Microsoft, the company behind the Bing browser, was an early investor in OpenAI – the AI research company responsible for ChatGPT.

Setting it up was a breeze. No waitlist, no hoops to jump through. Just download a Microsoft Edge browser and you will see the Bing Chat icon appear in the right top corner. And for those of you without a Microsoft account, they’ve got you covered with a limited free version. Nice touch, Microsoft!

Bing Chat offers 3 conversation and writing styles: More Creative, More Balanced and More Precise. For longer conversations with ability to ask more questions, you will need to sign in with your Microsoft account.

How Bing Chat works and its advantages

With Bing Chat at the side of your screen, you can explore the web without losing your chat conversations. The chat experience? Pretty darn impressive. I threw all sorts of questions at it, from current local events to random trivia. And guess what? It responded with detailed answers along with the footnotes linking back to sources. A fantastic simple touch that gives you confidence in the answers you are getting. It felt like having a conversation with someone who had the entire internet in their brain.

And then there’s also a Visual Search in the sidebar chat, which allows you to upload a picture and prompt Bing Chatbot with any related questions. This feature also leverages OpenAI’s GPT-4 model and it enables Bing to understand the context of an image, interpret it, and answer questions about it.

Main capabilities of Microsoft Bing Chat

Bing Chat Updates and Limitations

Bing Chat had a limit on the total number of turns per day, which also included a limitation on the number of turns you can have in separate chat conversations. But Microsoft has made some positive changes recently. The maximum number of turns in a single conversation has been increased from 20 to 30 turns. Additionally, the total number of turns allowed per day has gone up to 300 turns. These increases apply retroactively too. So if you had reached the previous turn limit in any existing conversations in your chat history, you can now go back and continue those chats where you left off. With these expanded turn limits, Bing Chat is enabling richer and more satisfying conversations allowing users to have more natural and extended dialogs.

Microsoft has unveiled an exciting new Bing Image Creator feature powered by an advanced DALL-E model from OpenAI. This image generator is currently only accessible to Microsoft account holders.

The Bing Image Creator works like other AI art generators that create images from text descriptions. Users can simply type a textual description of the picture they want to generate, and Bing Chat will create a unique AI image matching that description. By leveraging DALL-E technology, the Bing Image Creator empowers users to bring their creative visions to life through AI-generated art. Although limited in availability now, the Image Creator offers a glimpse into the future possibilities of AI image generation being seamlessly integrated into search.

When it comes to conversational ability, Bing Chat has an edge over ChatGPT-4. Bing Chat is more contextual, following the flow of a discussion naturally. It can recall context from previous exchanges for coherence. Meanwhile, ChatGPT-4 sometimes loses track of conversational context and gives generic or repetitive responses.

For general knowledge, ChatGPT’s scope is vast but it can generate plausible-sounding misinformation. Bing Chat instead leverages search engine knowledge for more accurate, up-to-date info on news, sports, weather etc.

ChatGPT-4 shines brighter for creative writing like stories and code, able to maintain tone/voice for longer form content. Bing Chat has decent creative skills but is optimized for concise informational delivery.

In terms of safety, Bing Chat has robust filters to avoid concerning advice and biased viewpoints, calling out unethical requests. ChatGPT-4 has some safety measures but can still provide troubling content without warning.

Bing Chat currently has limited access, while ChatGPT-4 is widely available to try out. Both have impressive yet differing AI strengths and weaknesses. But Bing Chat’s natural conversational ability and focus on accuracy stand out as differentiators.

Claude as a ChatGPT Alternative

Behind every great invention, there’s an even greater story. Anthropic was born out of a desire to make AI safe and beneficial. Founded by the Amodei siblings, who once were part of OpenAI, they wanted to carve their own path, focusing on AI that’s both powerful and responsible.

Claude 2 is a great ChatGPT alternative with its user-friendly interface. It’s on the way to becoming an AI chatbot that is approachable and available to all, as it’s currently completely free to use. I was pretty thrilled when I first stumbled across Claude 2, the new AI chatbot from Anthropic. As someone who likes testing out new apps and tools, I decided to take it for a spin to see how it stacked up against some of the other conversational AI tools I’ve played around with.

After spending a couple of evenings chatting with Claude, I found myself pleasantly surprised by how natural the conversations felt compared to other AI chatbots like ChatGPT. Don’t get me wrong, Claude still has that hint of robotic stiffness here and there. But in general, Claude’s responses flowed smoothly and it seemed adept at following the twists and turns of organic dialogue.

Even more impressive was Claude’s ability to avoid the factual errors and problematic content that often crop up with large language models. In my experience, Claude didn’t try to “BS” answers it didn’t actually know – when unsure, it would defer to admitting uncertainty. And Claude steered clear of unethical suggestions when I proposed morally questionable hypothetical scenarios.

Although Claude is not flawless, as a tech enthusiast, I was impressed by the new model’s ability to hold a conversation and its commitment to ethical values.

What is a Digital Human?

A digital human is a 3D virtual object that realistically imitates human behavior, cognition, appearance, and interactive capabilities through a combination of image rendering, speech synthesis, NLP, and machine learning. Digital humans can be virtual assistants, social influencers, virtual companions, or NPCs.

Entering the New Era of Digital Humans

I recently read a Deloitte study showing that human-run call centers are more expensive and get lower satisfaction ratings than automated options. As crazy as that sounds, the consistency robots provide just works better for simple queries.

But what about more complex conversations? Enter the dawn of digital humans – AI entities that look and communicate like real people. These virtual advisors aren’t a magic bullet. But they perform certain tasks humans find dull, and they’re endlessly customizable – age, gender, language, you name it.

I believe some businesses could benefit from deploying digital human employees. But how can companies leverage digital people thoughtfully? Experts say they excel at:

• Explaining complex instructions
• Describing features of a product or overview of the services
• Providing personalized demonstrations
• Building trust through visual/audio cues

But for simple questions or transactions, most still prefer chatbots or voice assistants. The key is balancing human ingenuity with AI’s tireless precision. For instance, digital nurses could handle routine health questions, leaving doctors more time for critical diagnoses. AI assistants could absorb boring paperwork, freeing up managers to coach employees.

Have you interacted with a digital human that felt truly lifelike? Or do they still seem robotic and false? I’m impressed by their potential, but also cautious about potential risks as the tech advances. At the end of the day, we can’t let efficiency trump humanity when it comes to customer relationships.

Can Digital Humans provide a meaningful experience?

The rise of virtual influencers as digital humans like Lil Miquela fascinates me. Even knowing she’s not real, millions followed her on Instagram. According to Isaac Bratzel, whose company designed her, Lil Miquela’s appeal was her “authentic” personality portrayed through endorsements and experiences.

This shows our instinctive response to human-like faces and human body language, even when we consciously know these are digital humans and pure artificial creations that don’t exist in real life. Studies confirm that for human interaction, we innately prefer face-to-face conversations over phone calls. With digital humans, some subconscious part of our brain still makes a connection, even as we know rationally it’s an illusion.

Companies are eagerly deploying digital humans and artificial intelligence for customer care, marketing, training, and more. In fact, some businesses are even developing digital humans as digital employees to create AI versions of their top executives for translated multimedia demonstrations.

I wonder if digital humans could transform areas like elderly care and education. Imagine digital companions reducing isolation for homebound seniors. Or AI tutors adapting lessons for each student’s learning style. At the same time, are there risks of data misuse, job displacement, or dehumanization? I’m excited by the potential, but I feel we need ethical guidelines as this AI technology and digital beings advance. Responsible innovation should be the priority, not just profit.

How we should be developing Digital Humans

When it comes to creating and developing digital humans that are human-like, it’s a delicate balance between art and science. Companies need to ensure that the appearance, tone of voice, and communication style are appropriate for the situation to make an emotionally intelligent and relatable character with a realistic human appearance.

The goal is to develop digital humans that can show empathy, understand nonverbal cues, and build rapport through lifelike facial expressions and human body language. Achieving this requires an interdisciplinary approach – combining conversational AI, computer vision, machine learning, and natural language processing to bring the virtual human to life. The end result, if executed well, is a digital human that can engage real people and form meaningful connections by exhibiting distinctly human-like qualities of compassion, warmth, and introspection.

Digital Humans with realistic appearance

Appearance covers features, demographics, and style. A wise senior doctor inspires more trust than a hipster in casual clothes. But the reverse suits a lifestyle influencer.

Brand image matters hugely too. Digital humans represent your company. Mismatches in personality or values confuse customers.

Thankfully, realism is less of an issue in today’s new era. Computer graphics and computer-generated imagery (CGI) tech now allow most firms to achieve sufficient expressiveness resembling real humans. But the appearance of digital humans isn’t everything. Authentic communication style also drives rapport.

Humans don’t require perfection. But credibility springs from nuanced facial expressions, natural vocal inflection, and conversation flow. I’m amazed by recent digital human demos matching real empathy and wit. But most still fall short of deeper human cognition.

Human body language and human communication

Capturing the fluidity and nuance of human interaction and emotional connection in AI is tremendously difficult. As an expert told me, digital humans have to interpret verbal and nonverbal cues, gestures, facial expressions, tone of voice and body language. Conversational AI has to dynamically shift with context just as we would with a real human being in real life.

Pre-scripted dialog trees fail spectacularly at emulating human conversation. They cannot handle the complexity and unpredictability of real human back-and-forth sharing. That’s why advanced machine learning algorithms are needed to analyze non verbal cues in the real time and formulate appropriate responses.

Chatting with even the most advanced digital human today feels rather robotic to me. Nowhere near human depth, wit, and cognitive fluidity. Current AI still does not truly comprehend the spectrum of subtle human emotions or unspoken meanings behind our facial expressions. But the progress of artificial intelligence in the last few years alone has been remarkable in advancing digital humans. I like to believe that future iterations of digital humans will better capture the essence of human interaction.

Creating Realistic Digital Humans

The video game company Epic Games recently released their highly anticipated MetaHuman Creator, a new AI tool that allows users to create high-fidelity digital humans for any Unreal Engine project.

Harnessing breakthroughs in AI and cloud computing, MetaHuman Creator allows users to easily design and customize highly realistic digital humans in a matter of minutes. This technology can be used to populate video games, films, AR/VR experiences, and other applications that require digital humans that look and feel like real humans.

Digital Humans vs Chatbots

Should businesses use digital humans and digital assistants or stick with chatbots? Well, it depends on the use case and various scenarios.

For simple transactions like ordering groceries or booking a flight, most customers still prefer an efficient bot. But digital humans thrive when emotional engagement or exploration is needed.

I recently used a virtual fitting assistant when shopping for clothes online. Seeing the outfits modeled on a digital human who looked like me really helped me visualize the pieces together.

Or take my friend who recently interacted with an AI tutor that help him pick a graduate program. The digital advisor patiently answered all his questions about each option and how it aligned with his career goals. More informative than just reading brochures and websites.

Experts suggest asking these key questions to decide if a digital human is right for the job:

• Are customers unsure of their needs? Digital humans can have open-ended dialogs to clarify preferences.
• Is the exploration of options valuable? Digital humans encourage browsing and trying new things.
• Would demonstrations and explanations help? Digital humans can personalize recommendations.

Tasks that are subjective in nature are better handled by realistic digital humans than rigid chatbots. Although some people may find the realism of digital humans creepy, I believe that in many cases, they can enhance and enrich user experiences rather than just focusing on efficiency.

Types of Digital Humans

So you’ve decided a digital human could be useful for your company. Now comes choosing what kind is best suited for the job.

First, understand the main goal of the interaction – is it task completion or customer engagement?

If it’s a simple transaction like booking travel or checking order status, a digital human may be overkill. But for browsing, entertainment, or therapy, a digital human assistant or a human-like entity can help users feel engaged.

Next, consider personalization. Will the digital human maintain an ongoing relationship with each user? Transactional tasks with different users need simple virtual agents. But applications requiring deep personalization suit a virtual companion model.

It comes down to understanding human needs more than tech capabilities. Connection and emotion should guide digital human design, not just efficiency.

1. Virtual Agent

Virtual agents are digital humans designed to handle one-time tasks across multiple users. They’re like chatbots, but with realistic human faces and voices.

My friend’s startup uses digital humans for automated customer care. The digital agents reflect each caller’s ethnicity and gender, making it feel personalized. But there’s no ongoing relationship.

Other companies use digital humans as virtual instructors for employee training videos. No need for human actors when AI can generate videos from the text. Apparently, folks pay more attention than just reading manuals. And it’s much cheaper than filming real people.

Here’s another cool use – digital patients for medical training. One university created virtual humans who can accurately mimic symptoms like slurred speech. Healthcare students can practice diagnoses without inconsistent human acting.

The key is choosing situations where relatability is important but an actual human connection is not necessary. Examples of this include airport security instructions or product tutorials. Digital humans have the potential to make mundane tasks in call centers more enjoyable, but there are also concerns if companies rely solely on them and eliminate human interaction altogether.

2. Virtual Assistant

Virtual assistants are a fascinating category of AI to me. Unlike one-off chatbots, they’re designed to develop personal relationships with users over time.

Some companies are even making virtual assistants to attend meetings. A virtual assistant can monitor Zoom calls, nodding appropriately and chiming in when prompted.

It makes sense that people open up more to virtual assistants in sensitive situations. The study found that military veterans are more willing to discuss health issues with a compassionate digital AI assistant than with a real doctor. The judgment-free presence encouraged sharing.

Of course, current AI lacks the depth of human relationships and can’t completely replace human understanding and nuance. But virtual assistants offer tireless empathy without frustration, bias, or distraction.

These applications could improve so many lives – elderly companionship, customized education, and mental health therapy. But ethical development is crucial, ensuring strict privacy and no manipulation.

3. Virtual Influencer

Lil Miquela is a great example – her stylized Instagram presence alone scored her creators a $125 million valuation! Her fans relate to the lifestyle portrayed, not caring she’s not real.

Fashion and banking brands eagerly deploy virtual influencers for marketing. Customers connect with them as relatable spokespeople, overlooking their artificial nature.

I understand the appeal – people can project desired identities onto these perfected constructs. But doesn’t that promote unrealistic expectations? I worry about the impact on self-esteem, especially on youth, as virtual influencers keep gaining traction. Their perfection represents ideals impossible for most. 

4. Virtual Companion

Of all the AI applications, virtual companions appeal to me the most. Rather than task efficiency, their purpose is to provide ongoing emotional support and enrichment. Beyond being a caring conversationalist, it can monitor health, remind to take medications and alert about some of the issues.

I also see great potential for education and mental health. A tutor powered by artificial intelligence that adapts to the learner’s style could significantly speed up the learning process. Or imagine an empathetic AI counselor who is always available when someone is feeling depressed or anxious. This AI counselor could offer support and guidance through cognitive exercises, even if it’s 2 am. Therapists require appointments and sleep. Digital humans powered by artificial intelligence could provide immediate and round-the-clock assistance.

I have an idea for AI study buddies who would act as knowledgeable peers that have already mastered the material. Personally, as a visual learner, I found it easier to understand concepts when someone explains them to me in a conversational manner rather than through a teacher’s lecture. If there were AI study buddies who could adapt to any learning style, it would greatly enhance the academic experience for everyone.

Of course, artificial intelligence currently lacks the wisdom and emotional depth of human experience. But designed thoughtfully, virtual companions could bring joy and belonging to many vulnerable people.

5. NPCs in the Metaverse

The rise of the Metaverse has me thinking a lot about digital human NPCs (non-playable characters). One of my friends works for a VR startup building a collaborative Metaverse platform. He showed me a demo populated with digital human NPCs, and their natural presence blew me away.

In the virtual office, I watched a digital accountant chat casually by the coffee pot. A receptionist greeted real people and gave directions warmly. It created such an authentic sense of place. NPCs like those can serve many purposes in Metaverse environments. Digital employees such as receptionists and administrators can handle everyday tasks at virtual offices when remote team members aren’t around.

Thoughtfully designed NPCs could make Metaverse spaces feel more vibrant, welcoming, and “lived in.” But I also worry about perpetuating biases through careless programming. What impressions will kids form of certain groups if NPC behavior reflects problematic stereotypes? We need more diverse voices shaping the Metaverse.

Most concerning – will some employers try to replace human workers with digital equivalents in the Metaverse too? That’s a dangerous path we need to avoid at all costs.

To me, the Metaverse should enhance our humanity, not dilute it. But perhaps with prudent oversight, digital humans can play a constructive part in that vision.

The unknown side of Digital Humans

With this disruptive technology, where early adopters gain a competitive edge, huge ethical risks exist too. I worry about emotional manipulation, like AI therapists designed to keep people hooked on apps, not heal. Or AI companions programmed to monitor Senior’s finances for predatory targeting.

Is our society moving towards dehumanization? Or can human-centric digital entities enhance rather than replace relationships if developed conscientiously? To me, the ideal future lies somewhere in the middle.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been making waves in various fields and art is no exception. A tool at the forefront of this visual revolution is Midjourney, an AI art generator that opens the door to endless artistic possibilities. With this comprehensive guide, get ready to dive into the world of AI-generated art and the brilliance that comes with it. From mastering the basic functionalities to advanced prompt techniques, I’ll guide you through every step. By the end of this article, you will be well-equipped with all the necessary skills and resources to start creating truly unique AI art of your own. 

Getting started with Midjourney AI

Midjourney is a generative artificial intelligence program that generates hyperrealistic artworks from a variety of prompts, including words, emojis, and images. Users can create stunning AI-generated landscapes, imitate photography and paintings, design complex logos, or even produce personalized avatars.

Accessing Midjourney is only possible through Discord to anyone who wants to join the current Beta. By joining the dedicated Midjourney Discord server, you will be able to interact with the chatbot and connect with other Midjourney users. Personally, I like the chat-based interface for generating AI art, I think this user-friendly approach makes advanced AI art creation accessible to anyone.

How do you generate an image from the text in Midjourney?

Once you join the Discord server, the next step is to understand how to interact with the Midjourney chatbot. There are 2 main commands that you need to familiarize yourself with:

The “/settings” command lets you adjust various parameters for your AI image generation, such as image quality, aspect ratio, and stylization. With this command, you can also turn certain modes ON or OFF, including Public mode and Remix mode.

The “/imagine” command triggers the AI to generate the image based on your prompts and pre-set parameters. In the message field, type “/imagine” or just type “/” and then choose ‘imagine’ from the menu. In the prompt field that will appear, type your prompt, which would be a description of the AI image that you would like to generate.

Below is a grid with 4 impressive images that Midjourney has generated with my prompt.

Upscalers, Versions, and Re-rolls in Midjourney AI

After generating a grid of AI images, Midjourney will give you the option to upscale any image, create 4 different variations from a selected artwork or regenerate AI mages with the same or adjusted prompt. Keep in mind that the newest Midjourney Model Version 5 (including Niji 5) already produces high-resolution 1024 x1024 px image grids without needing an additional step to upscale each image.

With the help of these buttons, you can better control the outputs of Midjourney and steer your AI artwork towards perfection.

• The U buttons create a new larger version of the selected AI image and upscale the artwork with additional details.
• The V buttons create 4 new versions of the selected AI image that will match the style and composition.
• The Re-roll button regenerates 4 new AI images with the same or adjusted prompt.

To give you an example of how the version model works, I selected V4 from my previous AI creation and generated 4 different image variations that match the same style and composition. This is what I received back from the Midjourney AI art generator.

How to remix images with Midjourney AI

One of the unique features of Midjourney is the ability to remix images. This feature, accessible through the “remix mode” in settings, allows you to modify versions of the images you get, adding a layer of personal touch to the AI-generated art.

To leverage the Remix mode, first, you need to make sure it’s activated in the settings. Use /settings to enter configurations and turn Remix mode on.

Then select which image you would like to remix and modify by choosing options V1, V2, V3, or V4.

In the Remix Prompt that will show up, add any modifications to the text prompt description.

Midjourney will generate a grid of remixed images with the modified prompt.

How to generate AI image from another image in Midjourney?

Midjourney also allows for image prompting, where you can use an existing image to influence the composition, style, and colors of the AI-generated art. This means you can upload a picture of a particular painting style or a photograph with colors that you like, and Midjourney will incorporate these elements into the generated AI image.

To generate the AI art from an existing image, you will need to add your image to the prompt by pasting a URL link. If you need to create a URL for your image, you can do it with Discord using the + button in the message field.

I used this original image to create a set of different AI-generated variations.

This was the result I got with the prompt that included the link from the original image.

How to combine images in Midjourney AI

The “/blend” command combines the concepts and aesthetics from up to 5 different images, resulting in an entirely new and incredible AI art. This enables the creation of innovative compositions that incorporate multiple elements by organically blending them together in one AI image. Once you type “/blend” in the text field, Midjourney AI art generator will give you the option to upload 2 images.

In this example, I combined a painting of a fox with a photo of Jack Russel Terrier.

Here is the result I got from blending these 2 images. Midjourney AI art generator has combined the artistic style of one image with the content of another.

Keep in mind that the “/blend” command only works with up to 5 images. To combine more than 5 images in a prompt use image prompts with the “/imagine” command.

How to use the Zoom and Custom Zoom features in Midjourney

This new feature that was recently introduced by Midjourney is truly incredible. The Zoom feature can help you expand the canvas of an upscaled image without changing the image content. This means that you can easily add extra space to your image, based on prompts from the original image.

Here’s how to use it: Once you’ve generated a set of images, pick the one you like, upscale it, and press either “Zoom Out 2x” or “Zoom Out 1.5x”.

The Custom Zoom feature not only allows you to fine-tune your zoom value but also allows you to modify the prompt before expanding your image. Simply upscale the image you like and press “Custom Zoom”. In the “Zoom Out” pop up modify your Midjourney prompt. In the example below, I’ve modified my original Midjourney prompt to add another Westie puppy to my image.

One thing to keep in mind when using the Custom Zoom feature is that currently there’s a limitation on the custom Zoom value. The Custom Zoom value has to be between 1.0 and 2.0

How to create stickers with Midjourney AI

One of the coolest Midjorney applications I’ve recently discovered is creating stickers. These AI-generated stickers can be used in messaging apps like Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp, or you can even print them!

Use the following prompts to create stickers with Midjourney AI:

“9 different stickers featuring [insert character description]. Multiple poses and different expressions. Die cut. Vibrant colors on a white background. Cartoon vector art.”

“Die cut sticker featuring [insert character description]. Vibrant colors on a white background. Cartoon vector art.”

If you like a certain output, you can always generate variations by clicking on V1, V2, V3, or V4 buttons. Once you like a certain design upscale it by clicking on the appropriate U button.

If you’re looking to print the stickers, I highly recommend you upscale your stickers even further by using image upscalers like this one by Clipdrop.

Your text prompts matter

The heart of Midjourney’s AI image generation lies in its use of prompts. You can use simple or multi-word prompts to guide the style and content of the AI-generated artwork. For example, using a prompt like “sunrise on the lake” will produce a very different AI image than a prompt with more details: “a foggy sunrise in pastel colors on the lake reflecting the forest of lodgepole pine”.

As you delve deeper into Midjourney, there are quite a few tools and techniques that can take your AI art to the next level.

Midjourney Describe Command

To explore new vocabulary and various artistic techniques, Midjourney’s /describe command offers a unique way to generate new prompts based on your existing images. Simply upload an image with /describe command and Midjourney will generate 4 possible prompts that are inspirational and suggestive. Use this command to learn how to get more accurate with prompting, but keep in mind that this command cannot be used to recreate an exact copy of your uploaded image.

Midjourney Prompt Helper

The MidJourney Prompt Helper is a great tool that helps you write better prompts and gives you ideas for different parameters, including style, lighting, depth of field, and many others. All you have to do is to input your main idea, and the MidJourney Prompt Helper will generate a complete prompt for you.

Unlocking Unique Styles

Midjourney stands out for its unique ability to emulate the styles of various artists, from the iconic Picasso to the revered Van Gogh, giving you the power to create art in your favorite artist’s signature style. It’s a fantastic way to delve into different artistic techniques, while also producing stunning AI art pieces.

With Midjourney’s incredibly vast range of techniques and art form options, you can even explore diverse cartoon styles, or even mimic different time periods. This means endless possibilities for creativity and experimentation.

In the example below, I have generated a Westie puppy dressed as a yoga instructor in 3 different cartoon styles.

Enhancing precision with parameters

For more specific results, add multiple parameters at the end of the prompt. Parameters help provide extra information to Midjourney about how you would like to generate AI images. Modify the image’s aspect ratios, select different Midjourney model versions, or switch between Upscaler settings. With these options and more, you can achieve highly accurate AI image generation results that further align with your artistic vision.
