Last month, I became a proud early adopter of xTiles, and since I’m enjoying it so much, I decided to write a review. I’m now using it every day to plan all our social content for DeckLinks, create articles, and make reading lists for the weekends. But first, since I’m pairing up my writings with my favourite musicians, I’d like to highlight an indie folk band from Ukraine that I discovered a while back.
What is xTiles?
xTiles is a web note-taking app that helps you and your team structure all your thoughts in one place. Whether you are brainstorming with your team at the ideation stage, planning upcoming tasks, or doing research together, xTiles is a secret tool that helps everyone stay on the same page, contribute ideas and reach any shared goal much faster.
“I never felt comfortable unloading my thoughts in Apple notes or on a whiteboard. Notes are too small, too simple; I couldn’t move and drag rows, it wasn’t flexible enough. And whiteboards gave a lot of freedom and not enough structure. I had to align pixel by pixel, and when I needed to dive deep, I couldn’t.”
–Maksym Kuchur, Founder at XTiles
To create an ultimate solution that the market was missing, xTiles team combined the best of two worlds: the flexibility and unlimited possibilities of a whiteboard with the structure of note-taking tools.
Today, xTiles became a centralized place for remote teams to create brilliant brainstorms, express ideas, and plan efficient content marketing strategies.
Plan social content with your customers
At DeckLinks, we plan social media content together with our users. This way, we can share their stories and help them promote their offerings through our product. From recording podcasts to sharing their reviews and deck links, we love to highlight our customers and grow a supportive community. And since our content initiatives require quite a bit of coordination, I prepare content ahead of time. xTiles helps me visually plan all our social content for the weeks ahead, add ideas on the fly and share any specific pages internally with the team and externally with our customers.
Co-write articles with your team
DeckLinks was recently launched on ProductHunt, and we decided to share our experience with the community. To help other startups with their launch, my colleague and I put together a Product Hunt guide. We used xTiles to quickly assemble some key points, our top tips and best practices. Here is our draft page and the approach we used to plan the content for this article.
Organize and plan bookmark-worthy content
Staying focused and not getting distracted is a huge challenge these days. With all the incoming content that shows up in every social feed across so many platforms, getting sidetracked is easy. If I bookmark content in my browser, there is a big chance it will get lost in endless folders, and I’d never get back to it. So I found a better way to organize and save articles and videos for later (mostly for weekends).
And yes, I did save a TikTok guide for later 😁. I’m super curious how b2b companies use TikTok, and that would be another use case I’d like to try with xTiles – Organize our market research and competitor analysis.
